NIHR Engages in Regional Dialogue Forum on Education
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), with representation by Dr. Malallah Al Hammadi, a Council of Commissioners member, actively took part in the “Future of Human Rights Learning and Education in the Arab Region: Towards a New Social Contract Forum” held in Egypt.
This forum was a collaborative effort, organized by several prominent organizations, including the Arab Institute for Human Rights (AIHR), the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI), the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt (NCHR), the Arab League, UNESCO, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Dr. Al Hammadi delivered a paper that outlined NIHR’s commitment to monitoring both public and private educational institutions, as well as evaluating the procedures and services offered to individuals in accordance with fundamental human rights principles.
The forum brought together representatives from member states, including government ministries and heads of national institutions, along with experts from international and regional organizations. During the event, they engaged in extensive discussions regarding the future of education and strategies to better incorporate human rights and national values into educational curricula. Additionally, the participants shared their expertise and identified key approaches aimed at shaping a vision for the advancement of education in a rapidly changing world.
