Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Chairs Riyadh Summit Between GCC and ASEAN
On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince presided over the Riyadh summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, chaired the Riyadh summit between the GCC and ASEAN, showcasing the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening ties with Asian nations.
The meeting provided a platform to discuss regional and international issues, as well as economic, political, and cultural cooperation between the two regions. Leaders in attendance exchanged views on subjects such as regional security, counterterrorism efforts, trade, investment, and energy cooperation.
The Riyadh summit also offered an opportunity to enhance collaboration in the framework of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy and promote political and social reforms.
The Crown Prince emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the GCC and ASEAN, two regions that share common interests and similar challenges. He called for increased cooperation to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in both regions.
The Riyadh summit between the GCC and ASEAN marked a significant step in bolstering relations between these two regions and paved the way for closer cooperation in the years ahead.
