Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing Director General Meets IACP President
Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, held a meeting with Wade Carpenter, the President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police during his visit to the United States to attend the association’s annual conference in San Diego.
The IACP President extended his congratulations to Shaikh Khalid for being honored with the association’s prestigious “40 under 40” award.
The “40 Under 40 Award” is a program aimed at recognizing 40 law enforcement professionals under the age of 40 from all over the world for their outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to their profession.
The Director-General shed light on Bahrain’s plans and strategies for its alternative sanctions and open prisons program, which are rooted in the principles of the comprehensive development process spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. These initiatives receive steadfast support from the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He emphasized that the directives of the Interior Minister form the cornerstone of implementing the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law, which includes offering rehabilitation and training programs for its beneficiaries. This law is being put into action through collaborations with the community and partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
The IACP President commended the training and community project, which embodies an ambitious vision for rehabilitation and community service. He mentioned that the IACP intends to showcase this project at its upcoming conference as a valuable international human rights initiative from which others can draw inspiration.
