Meeting between HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and IOC Vice President Ng Ser Miang
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), held a meeting with Ng Ser Miang, Vice President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The gathering was attended by HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council; Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS); Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority; Fares Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC; and Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA).
HH Shaikh Khalid reaffirmed the BOC’s commitment to enhancing its partnership with the International Olympic Committee in furthering the Olympic movement.
He commended the IOC for its role in advancing the Olympic movement, promoting sports values, and spreading Olympic principles through a variety of sporting initiatives, including the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, and other programs.
HH Shaikh Khalid also emphasized that the Bahrain Olympic Committee collaborates with the International Olympic Committee in accordance with the Olympic Charter, the constitution of the Olympic Movement. He expressed the kingdom’s interest in bilateral cooperation aimed at supporting Olympic efforts and extended his best wishes for the International Olympic Committee’s success.
Miang expressed his gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid and praised the development of sports in Bahrain, highlighting the support it receives, along with its achievements on the Olympic and Asian stage. He expressed his wishes for the kingdom’s continued progress.
