Exploring Uncharted Waters: Mars aux Musées 23rd Edition, Prepare to embark on a cultural odyssey as the 23rd edition of Mars aux Musées unveils its theme, “Against the Current,” at the Palais Lascaris in Rue Droite, Nice, on Monday, March 4th, at 11 a.m. Esteemed guests including Robert Roux, Deputy Mayor for Culture; Patrick Mottard, Municipal Councillor overseeing Cinema and the Victorine project, as well as Deputy for Performing Arts and New Cultural Audiences Development; and Ali Douai, Vice President of Education and Pedagogical Innovation at Université Côte d’Azur, will grace the event.
A collaborative venture between Université Côte d’Azur and the City of Nice, Mars aux Musées returns from March 9th to March 23rd, 2024. Curated by students from the Master program in Event Management, Mediation, and Cultural Engineering (EMIC) at Université Côte d’Azur, this edition promises to challenge conventional narratives and embrace innovation.
Five of Nice premier museums will be transformed into hubs of creativity, each embracing a unique thematic exploration. From aesthetic clashes at the Jules Chéret Fine Arts Museum to carefree expressions at the Anatole Jakovsky International Museum of Naïve Art, from scientific revelations at the Museum of Natural History to urban spectacles at the Masséna Museum, and from futuristic visions at the Archaeological Museum of Nice-Cimiez, attendees will be treated to a diverse array of cultural experiences.
The lineup, aptly named “Against the Current,” will feature performances by Accorps Crew, the enchanting melodies of singer Helia, uproarious comedy from the Bobar Comedy Club, the artistic brilliance of Nigina brushes, the dynamic energy of La Sauce, the infectious rhythms of K-pop sensation Risin’, and the avant-garde fusion of Goku Kepler and Global Industrial Culture.
In addition to the main festival, Mars aux Musées will offer “mars’terclasses” throughout March, providing students with invaluable learning opportunities. For the first time, these classes will extend beyond traditional museum settings to include venues such as the Victorine Studios and the Charles Nègre Museum of Photography.
In 2023, Mars aux Musées attracted over 2,300 visitors who were enthralled by the works of 70 artists across five museums.
Join us on Monday, March 4th, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Palais Lascaris for the unveiling of the complete program for the 2024 edition of Mars aux Musées.
