Bahrain Launches Innovative Code-in-Space Program for Young Minds Attention all aspiring coding prodigies! Nurturing your children’s interest in science can be a rewarding endeavor, and when captivating subjects like space are involved, the journey becomes even more exciting.
For households harboring budding stargazers and potential astronauts, a remarkable opportunity awaits thanks to the Bahrain National Space Science Agency (NSSA). Collaborating with Orbital Space, the NSSA has unveiled a novel initiative aimed at high school and university students.
This initiative invites students to craft a code that will be uploaded onto a nanosatellite orbiting Earth’s lower atmosphere. The code will subsequently be executed by the satellite’s onboard computer, undergoing real-world testing under authentic conditions. Once completed, the results will be transmitted back to Earth. How incredible is that?
To participate in the code-in-space program, aspiring coders must register on the Spaceport Academy website via this link, followed by joining the Space Challenge: Orbital Space Edition. Participants will embark on a learning journey, encompassing educational modules, culminating in devising solutions for challenges pertinent to the satellite industry. These solutions can then be submitted for a chance to be selected and undergo real-world testing.
Individuals and groups alike, whether coding enthusiasts or teams of young innovators, are encouraged to take part. The submission deadline is set for Thursday, March 18.
