King Fahd Causeway Reopens: Travel Updates for GCC Boundaries
The King Fahd Causeway is poised for a reopening on Monday, May 17th, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s decision to allow its citizens to travel abroad once again.
As per existing regulations, the privilege of departing rests with fully vaccinated individuals, those who have recuperated from COVID-19, or those below 18 years old who hold a coronavirus insurance certificate.
For vaccinated travelers entering Bahrain from the GCC, entry protocols have been relaxed starting from the onset of Eid Al-Fitr. The necessity of a PCR test upon arrival has been waived. Instead, these travelers must present the green emblem of vaccination or recovery via an official application. Alternatively, they can submit vaccination or recovery certificates issued by the health ministries of GCC countries.
Individuals aged between six and 17, along with those who are neither vaccinated nor recovered from the virus, will still need to undergo a PCR test upon arrival.
For those returning to Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom mandates a negative COVID-19 test for those unvaccinated or unrecovered.
This development arrives concurrently with the enforcement of new restrictions for unvaccinated individuals. Indoor dining, gym activities, cinema visits, and spa appointments are now exclusive to fully vaccinated individuals. Outdoor services remain open to all.
