Minister of Commerce Meets with UNCTAD Secretary-General
Riyadh : The Minister of Commerce, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, today at his office in the Ministry’s headquarters.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UNCTAD in the fields of trade, investment, and infrastructure development. They also reviewed prospects for mutual cooperation, programs, and projects undertaken by UNCTAD.
The minister welcomed the esteemed guest, commending UNCTAD’s role in promoting trade and achieving sustainable development regionally and internationally. He expressed the Kingdom’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and partnership with UNCTAD through knowledge and experience exchange and the development of trade and investment areas.
Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi renewed his gratitude to the Minister of Commerce for the warm welcome and constructive cooperation, expressing his appreciation for the Kingdom’s efforts in supporting global trade and promoting development.
It is worth noting that the UNCTAD Secretary-General is currently visiting the Kingdom and participating in the forty-third session of the Arab Ministers of Commerce and Industry Council.
