He sought early connection with audiences, developing his vocal prowess in interactive settings. This preliminary phase paved the way for the release of his inaugural track, “Shi Nahar,” in 2019—an announcement heralding the emergence of a distinctive voice in the Arab indie realm. Zav, a daring young artist, composed and sang a romantically layered song harmonizing with the ebb and flow of the sea, showcasing his unmistakable vocal presence.
Zav’s initial releases showcased a proclivity for embracing diverse cultures, incorporating a variety of sounds and beats that defied the confines of mainstream music. This inclination is particularly evident in “Why Do I Stay,” where Zav seamlessly integrates a verse from the Moroccan Gnawa tradition, relying on rapid claps to create an exhilarating, kinetic rhythm. Zav recently showcased songs from his debut album during the Sawt Jadid live sessions presented by Anghami.
