Conclusion of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2023: Inspiring AI Workshops Shape the Future
The Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2023 has officially come to a close, featuring engaging AI workshops. These workshops were presented in collaboration with Microsoft, the knowledge partner, and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The forum, held under the patronage of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), took place at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir and revolved around the theme “AI: Reshaping Industries.”
BIBF hosted a workshop titled “AI Evolution: Navigating the Landscape for Professionals.” Participants had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of ethical and privacy considerations related to the development of unbiased AI models. The session was introduced by Mrs. Maryam Majid, Head of Digital Transformation and Project Management Centre at BIBF. A workshop titled “Bias-Free AI: A Deep Dive into Ethics and Privacy” was conducted by Noora Yaseen AlBalooshi, a Digital Transformation Expert Trainer at BIBF. This session delved into the ethical challenges associated with AI and stressed the importance of creating AI models that are free from bias. Mohammed Buallay, an AI & Data Analytics Expert at BIBF, presented a session titled “AI for Professionals: Bridging the Gap to Innovation,” providing practical guidance on integrating AI into the workplace and simplifying AI models in the process.
Under the “AI Technical Masterclass” banner, Microsoft organized a technical workshop that explored the transformative potential of AI, with a focus on the latest AI-powered development tools. Rami Azzi, Microsoft’s Customer Success Lead for Modern Work and Employee Experience in the Middle East, delivered a session titled “Transforming the Way We Work: Introducing Microsoft 365 Co-pilot and AI.” This session explored the innovative ways in which AI is enhancing workplace productivity and efficiency.
Hatim Nagarwala, Microsoft Azure App Innovation & Developer GTM Manager in the Middle East, presented “GitHub Unleashed: Navigating the Ecosystem, from Collaboration to AI-Powered Development with GitHub Copilot.” He emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration and integrating AI-driven tools to streamline development processes.
The 10th edition of the forum attracted over 600 attendees, including government officials, private sector representatives, IT professionals, and enthusiasts from various government, private, civil society, and academic institutions. This marked the highest number of attendees since the inception of the forum.
