Zuma Cannes will be the first restaurant to open in the redeveloped Palm Beach, ushering in
a new era for the iconic French Riviera destination
Zuma has announced the official opening of its French flagship restaurant, Zuma Cannes, on
May 15 th , 2024. Located within the legendary Palm Beach on Pointe Croisette, the restaurant
will open in time for the Cannes Film Festival, and is set to be a new hotspot for film stars
and celebrities alike.
Zuma will be the first restaurant to open in the iconic Palm Beach Cannes, a historic site
synonymous with the riviera that has been lovingly restored to its former glory. First
inaugurated in 1929, Palm Beach was a symbol of the golden age, playing host to renowned
galas, fashionable cabaret shows and welcoming great names from around the world.
The new restaurant from Zuma embodies this spirit through the natural elements used in its
composition, including its iconic rugged fixtures of stone and wood. It leverages the classic,
simple, and timeless design which has been a constant philosophy for the brand as Zuma
has opened in notable locations all around the globe. Adapting to the local culture, Zuma
Cannes boasts a large terrace that encompasses intricate lattice work which blurs the
boundaries between indoor and outdoor, making it one continuous space in the Japanese
technique of ‘Shakkei’ which means ‘borrowed landscape.’ Guests enter the venue though a
low-ceiling tunnel, a passageway intended to switch their minds from the mundane outside
world and enter in both body and consciousness into their new surroundings.
Upon this entrance guests are privy to a large private dining room along a number of events
spaces which can cater for all needs and sizes. Open exclusively for dinner, the nights are
invigorated by live DJs that create a glamorous backdrop for parties reminiscent of the
gilded era of Palm Beach. The venue will be open year-round as it features a full restaurant
and sushi and robata counter so that guests can enjoy Zuma’s contemporary izakaya
concept on the Cote D’Azur in all seasons.
Zuma Cannes menu presents signature dishes along with some favourites such as the sliced
otoro, served with smoked tomato dashi and oscietra caviar as well as the special toro maki
and the Chilean seabass croquettes in ginger chilli dressing. The beef tartare with sancho
pepper, myoga and black truffle has been exclusively created for Zuma Cannes, and guests
will be able to enjoy the theatre of this dish as it is expertly prepared tableside. Desserts,
never disappoint and the exotic fruits pavlova with cherry blossom chantilly and mango
sorbet is a perfect end to a summer evening meal on the French riviera.
