The potential sale of AS Monaco remains speculative, but it could see Luis Campos returning to the club, this time in a presidential role.
Earlier this year, Dmitry Rybolovlev, owner of ASM, announced through a statement from his family office, as reported by Get French Football News, that he was exploring strategic options for the club following unsolicited interest. The Raine Group is currently advising on the process, with multiple offers on the table for the Principality club.
Against the backdrop of recent diplomatic and economic developments, there has been a warming of relations between Saudi Arabia and Monaco. This has led the Princely Palace to view Saudi interest in a positive light. Reports from L’Équipe, confirmed by Get French Football News, indicate that should Rybolovlev decide to sell Monaco and should Saudi Arabia acquire the club, they plan to appoint Luis Campos, currently PSG’s sporting director and with significant ties to Monaco, as the club’s president. Campos, who previously served in a similar capacity at ASM before his departure in 2016, remains closely connected to the Principality and could potentially play a pivotal role in its future leadership.
