Indoor Dining Resumes in Bahrain: A Welcome Step Forward Indoor dining has made its return to Bahrain on this Sunday, March 14, as confirmed by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Restaurants and cafés are now permitted to welcome up to 30 customers indoors, while still offering the option of outdoor dining. The reintroduction of indoor dining follows its suspension initially on January 31, with the intention of a three-week hiatus that extended due to evolving circumstances. Additionally, public and private schools, universities, nurseries, kindergartens, and other private training institutions can also recommence in-person learning.
However, it’s essential to note that in-person learning remains optional, with the decision to send children to school being left to the discretion of parents or guardians.
The taskforce has further announced the reopening of indoor gyms, sports halls, and swimming pools, aiming to revive recreational opportunities while maintaining safety.
For social gatherings and private events, the stipulation remains that they must be limited to fewer than 30 individuals.
Emphasizing an adaptable approach, Bahrain’s taskforce asserts that all decisions and recommendations are subject to regular review based on the latest COVID-19 data. It underlines the continued importance of adhering to precautionary measures and encourages the public to register for the available vaccines.
With five vaccines authorized for use in Bahrain – Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford/Astrazeneca, Russian Sputnik, and Johnson and Johnson – the options are broad. Individuals can select their preferences while registering for the vaccine via the Bahrain BeAware app or the online platform healthalert.gov.bh.
It’s noteworthy that the COVID-19 vaccine is accessible for all citizens and residents without charge.
