Malta Offers Up to €200 Incentive for Summer Tourists
Among our cherished daydreams is the anticipation of exploring new destinations once the current situation subsides.
Regularly, we find ourselves browsing hotels and activities in places that welcome fully vaccinated travelers, and our screens are filled with images of swimsuits and sandals, fueling our wanderlust.
If you share this sentiment, you might want to consider adding Malta to your list of potential summer getaways. The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) is launching a remarkable €3.5 million initiative in June to coincide with the reopening of the country to visitors.
Under this scheme, travelers who book a five-star hotel will receive €100 from the MTA. Those opting for a four-star accommodation will be granted €75, while guests choosing a three-star hotel will enjoy €50. Moreover, the hotel’s contribution will match that of the MTA, effectively resulting in an incentive ranging between €100 and €200 simply for embarking on your visit.
To capitalize on this enticing offer, bookings must be made directly through the hotel’s booking system, with a minimum stay of three days.
While there’s no specified end date for the program, it will remain active until the allocated budget is expended, benefiting an estimated 35,000 tourists.
The incentive funds can be applied towards lodging, dining, beverages, and other hotel services. For comprehensive details about the scheme, you can refer to the MTA website.
Malta is on track to resume international tourism from June 1st, with over 40 percent of the adult population having received at least one vaccine dose. While not officially confirmed, the Maltese government is contemplating allowing fully vaccinated travelers unrestricted movement within the country. Non-vaccinated visitors will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test before arrival.
