Travel News Kingdom Of Bahrain: Updated Entry Requirements for Travelers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka

Travelers to Bahrain from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka Required to Present Negative PCR Test

The Ministry of Health has announced that travelers arriving in Bahrain from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are now obligated to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test before their departure.

Passengers entering Bahrain from these four countries must undergo the test within 48 hours prior to their departure. This requirement is also applicable to those transiting through the Kingdom. Passengers aged six and above must furnish a negative test with a QR code before boarding their flights.

Enforced from Monday, May 3rd, these restrictions align with the continued meticulous assessment of epidemiological data by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This ongoing analysis aims to uphold the well-being of all individuals.

In addition to the pre-departure negative test, all travelers will undergo a second test upon arrival and remain in isolation until receiving a negative result. A second PCR test will be administered on the fifth day post-arrival, followed by a third and final test on the tenth day.

The stipulated cost for these mandatory COVID-19 tests will amount to BHD36.

Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health, highlighted that only a minor percentage of existing cases are travel-related, indicating the efficacy of the mandatory protocols implemented for incoming travelers.

Starting from the first day of Eid al-Fitr, several restrictions will be enacted for those who have yet to be vaccinated. Access to indoor dining, indoor gym facilities, cinemas, and spas will be reserved exclusively for individuals holding a vaccination certificate on the Bahrain BeAware app.

To register for vaccination, you can utilize the BeAware app or visit healthalert.gov.bh.
