In a significant encounter, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council (HEC) Board of Trustees, recently convened with poet Ali Abdullah Khalifa, who holds the esteemed position of President of the International Organisation of Folk Art (IOV).
During their discussion, the minister commended the commendable efforts of the popular culture magazine in disseminating and reinforcing Bahraini folklore and heritage, while also contributing to their documentation and preservation.
Underlining the ministry’s priorities, Dr. Juma emphasized the essential nature of educating all students about the significance of popular and cultural heritage, as well as the promotion of the Bahraini identity.
The minister also lauded the poet’s extensive cultural and literary journey, extending his gratitude for his collaborative efforts with various pertinent authorities in evolving strategies to safeguard popular heritage, which is integral to Bahrain’s history.
The meeting saw both parties engaging in talks regarding potential avenues for enhanced cooperation between the Education Ministry and the IOV. They explored the implementation of diverse programs and activities aimed at fostering mutual growth.
Ali Abdullah Khalifa, in turn, conveyed his gratitude to the minister and the dedicated employees of the ministry for their steadfast commitment to advancing education in Bahrain.
