Kuwait has introduced a visa-on-arrival facility for residents of GCC countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain, aiming to simplify travel and encourage tourism and business visits.
Eligible travelers must hold a valid residency permit with at least six months remaining, belong to specific professional categories, and carry a valid passport and a return ticket. Importantly, applicants must not be on Kuwait’s blacklist.
The visa is issued directly at Kuwait International Airport and is valid for three months, providing flexibility for short-term visits, business trips, or family travel. This measure complements the nationwide e-visa platform launched in July 2025, which allows pre-approved electronic visas for visitors.
This initiative also aligns with Kuwait’s broader goal of integrating regional travel through the proposed unified GCC tourist visa, which is designed to allow easier movement across member states. By offering visa-on-arrival, Kuwait reduces administrative hurdles while ensuring safety and compliance.
Officials note that the program targets professionals whose skills contribute to regional cooperation and economic exchange. The approach reflects Kuwait’s commitment to modernizing its immigration policies while supporting tourism growth.
With this system in place, GCC residents can plan trips more efficiently, enjoying a smoother entry process upon arrival. The move reinforces Kuwait’s position as a welcoming destination, bridging convenience and security. Travelers from neighboring countries can now explore Kuwait with minimal pre-arrival paperwork, encouraging regional connectivity.
By integrating the visa-on-arrival option with existing e-visa services, Kuwait sets a precedent for practical and traveler-friendly immigration reforms that support both economic activity and cultural exchange in the Gulf region.
